Coldcart gives you flexible control over which orders are processed for fulfillment, with the ability to temporarily or permanently ignore orders based on a wide range of conditions. This feature is especially useful for managing fulfillment during exceptions or special cases. Common use cases include:
Weather-related pauses: Hold orders during temporary weather disruptions in specific zip codes, states, or cities to prevent shipping delays or spoilage.
Non-Coldcart SKUs: Automatically ignore orders for SKUs not fulfilled through Coldcart.
Tagged Orders: Automatically hold back orders with specific tags from fulfillment. This is often used for orders that require brand-managed processing.
Note: Utilizing this feature will ignore entire orders. If you wish to ignore a particular SKU, but ship other items on an order, please utilize our bundle feature to ignore specific SKUs.
Navigate to Rules, select Order Pre-Processing from the headers and click the Create a Rule button:
Provide the requested info in the three fields following "If..." to tell our system what parameters need to be considered for your rule.
Next, scroll down to Assign and select Ignore Processing. Check the box to confirm the rule and click Create Rule to finalize setup.
Incoming orders that trigger the rule will be marked with "Ignored" status.
Note:
Orders in "Ignored" status will continue to be classified as unfulfilled in your merchant store.
To process an order for fulfillment that has previously been ignored, remove the rule and either:
Reprocess the order manually from the Orders page
Wait for the next order pull from your merchant store to automatically re-pull and process the order for fulfillment
