Coldcart's "default" settings are to set your maximum time in transit to the industry standard of 48 hours.
When Coldcart pulls your orders into our system, our engine is pooling from every service level and carrier that is set up for your profile during onboarding, in order to determine which options will get your package delivered within the allotted two day time in transit maximum - see the green rows in the fictional example below:
Service Level | Est. Time in Transit | Cost |
Next Day Air | 1 Day | $40 |
2nd Day Air | 2 Days | $17 |
3 Day Select | 3 Days | $15 |
Ground | 4 Days | $10 |
Next, Coldcart will filter these results to choose the least expensive shipping method (i.e. service level 7 carrier) serviceable within the two days time in transit maximum - see the green row in the fictional example below:
Service Level | Est. Time in Transit | Cost |
Next Day Air | 1 Day | $40 |
2nd Day Air | 2 Days | $17 |
3 Day Select | 3 Days | $15 |
Ground | 4 Days | $10 |
In the above fictional example, our system will assign 2nd Day Air for your shipment and generate a shipping label and picklist accordingly.
Note: while the above example is our system's default settings, you have the ability to modify our system's decisioning using our Pre Processing Rules feature or our Carrier Overrides feature.
