You’ll need administrator access to your Shopify store with permission to develop and install apps, access to the Shopify Dev Dashboard, and access to integrations in the Coldcart portal.
1) Log in to your Shopify store and click Settings in the bottom left corner. Note the Store URL shown beneath your store name. You’ll use this URL to connect your store in Coldcart:
Note: Your store URL cannot be a custom domain. Use your Shopify store base URL, for example, https://example.myshopify.com.
2) From Settings, navigate to Apps > Develop apps, then click Build apps in Dev Dashboard:
3) In the Dev Dashboard, click Create app. Enter Coldcart Integration as the app name, then click Create app:
4) In the Dev Dashboard, go to API access and click Select scopes:
Select the following scopes by checking their boxes, then click Done:
· write_assigned_fulfillment_orders
· read_assigned_fulfillment_orders
· read_customers
· write_fulfillments
· read_fulfillments
· write_inventory
· read_inventory
· write_locations
· read_locations
· write_merchant_managed_fulfillment_orders
· read_merchant_managed_fulfillment_orders
· write_metaobject_definitions (optional for Lot Codes)
· read_metaobject_definitions (optional for Lot Codes)
· write_metaobjects

· write_orders
· read_orders
· read_products
· write_third_party_fulfillment_orders
· read_third_party_fulfillment_orders
Note: The metaobject definition scopes are only required if you use Lot Codes in Coldcart. Select all other scopes listed above.
5) Click Release and enter a version name, for example, v1.0. Confirm the new version has been created and is marked Active:
6) In the Dev Dashboard, click the Coldcart Integration app name, then click Install app. Select the Shopify store you want to connect, review the requested permissions, and click Install:
7) In the Dev Dashboard, open App settings. Under Credentials, copy the Client ID and Secret. You’ll enter these in Coldcart as the Client ID and Client Secret:
Note: Treat the Client Secret like a password. Do not share it by email or chat. If you need to share it with another administrator, use a secure channel such as a password manager.
8) In the Coldcart portal, go to Profile > Settings. Under Integrations, click Shopify > Enable:
9) Click Add to configure your Shopify store:
10) Complete the configuration using the details collected above:
· Enter your Shopify Store URL from step 1.
· Set Auth Mode to OAUTH2.
· Enter the Client ID from step 7.
· Enter the Client Secret from step 7.
· Click Generate Access Token to verify the credentials. Wait for the confirmation “Access token generated”.
· Check that Create Fulfillments and Push Shipping Updates & Email Order Updates to Customers options are checked.
· Click Connect to save your store details.
Note: If the access token cannot be generated, check that the Store URL, Client ID, and Client Secret were copied correctly, with no leading or trailing spaces. Confirm the app version is Active and the app is installed on the same store you entered in Coldcart.
If orders or fulfillments do not sync, check that all required scopes are selected. If you change the scopes, release a new version and reinstall or update the app. If you rotate the Client Secret in Shopify, update it in Coldcart and generate a new access token.
